Jönköping Parish is Hiring a Mobile Communicator

Jönköping Parish plays an important role in society, significantly impacting many residents. There is much for you as a communicator to share, whether on our intranet, on the web, in our household magazine Amos, or as a press release.

Role as a Communicator

We are now looking for someone who identifies with the title mobile communicator. You should enjoy coordinating internal processes such as operational plans and annual reports, as well as being out in the field creating interesting reports in text, images, and sometimes video clips about our activities.

As a communicator, you will be part of the parish priest's staff. Together with a colleague, you will form the parish's communication unit, the hub for internal and external communication. Your role includes communicating the fundamental tasks of the Church of Sweden: worship, diaconia, education, and mission. This also includes managing media contacts and writing press releases as needed.

Your tasks will involve being present in the parish's activities and reporting on them in our internal and external channels. You will also work graphically with posters, brochures, and advertisements for our events. Other tasks include creating internal surveys, organizing our image archive, and collecting material for the internal weekly newsletter that keeps all employees informed about what is happening in the parish.

You will also be responsible for the parish's work with GDPR and our intranet system.

The editorial responsibility for the household magazine Amos, published four times a year, is a significant part of the job. You will be responsible for ensuring that the local section of the magazine is filled with relevant material, which can also be used in some form on other platforms.

The communication unit also drives the long-term strategic work on how the parish's activities should be presented externally on various platforms. This is to show the 38,000 households within Jönköping Parish what the Church of Sweden offers in terms of worship life, diaconal activities, music offerings, preschools, cemeteries, and much more.

Your Competence

We are looking for someone who is confident, engaged, and curious, with the ability to take initiative and drive communication efforts forward to achieve results. You are skilled at embracing and understanding the organization's identity and brand and can build strong relationships and create trust through collaboration and engagement. With strategic thinking and creative ability, you see opportunities, think outside the box, and contribute new ideas.

We also want you to:

• Have relevant education in communication from a university or equivalent
• Have at least 5 years of work experience in communication and journalism
• Be familiar with or curious about the Christian faith and open to the existential dimensions of life
• Have good knowledge and experience with the Office and Adobe suite, such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
• Have good photography skills with various types of equipment such as DSLR cameras and smartphones
• Have excellent ability to express yourself in speech and writing and adapt content and tone to different target groups and channels
• Have good experience working in and creating quality content for modern social media platforms and a solid understanding of how the modern social media landscape works
• Have a valid driver's license (Class B)

About the Employment

Your placement will be at Klockaregården in central Jönköping, but your work will be conducted both in the field and at your desk. Working from home is possible to some extent. Evening and weekend work occurs regularly.

About the Parish

The Church of Sweden Jönköping, Växjö diocese, embodies the parish's fundamental mission in a dynamic context that grows by nearly 2,000 residents each year. The parish operates in a municipality that is expected to accommodate 200,000 residents in the long term. This development curve affects and changes the conditions for residents, businesses, community life, and Christian congregations like ours. Jönköping Parish works based on ten churches, organized into three geographical parish areas. The parish runs three preschools, family counseling, conversation reception, and diaconal reception. We are present in hospitals, universities, and correctional facilities. The parish is also seeking new creative ways to be present in the residential area of Strandängen. The funeral operations work in four operational areas. The growing city is also reflected in this part of the parish's work.
